Ines Weber, born in 1989 in Aachen, studied Sociology in Tübingen and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). She completed her master's degree in 2016 with an empirical analysis of socially differentiated heating energy consumption based on data from the Socio-Economic Panel. During her subsequent position as a research assistant in the working group “Lokale Passung” at the Institute of Sociology at LMU Munich, she researched the energy consumption behaviour of private households in buildings with different energy standards as well as the response behaviour of households to energy price changes.
Since her appointment as a research assistant at IWU at the end of 2017, Ines Weber has been pursuing a part-time doctorate as an external doctoral candidate under Prof. Gill at LMU. In 2024, Ines Weber completed her PhD with the title “Analysis of Social and Economic Determinants of Housing Demand and Heating Energy Needs”.
Her research focuses at IWU are on questions of social science energy research in the residential building sector and housing policy.
